Light is an important compositional element in photography. It can be created either artificially or naturally. Not only does light influence the brightness/darkness of the image, it determines the atmosphere and mood.

Let There Be Light

Let There Be Light was a photography-based project, where the aim was to play around with lighting in order to create abstract imagery. Here multiple objects were brought into the studio to be photographed in various ways. We used both dark and lit up rooms to capture different types of lighting. I found it interesting how the same objects would look completely different depending on the lighting, which shows how crucial an element it is when it comes to photography. Photography can be used as a design element to create packaging. The second part of this project was to apply the imagery captured to a chosen kind of music packaging design. Here I decided to design both the records and the sleeves of the records.
