Nothingness

Nothingness is a poetry book composed of a collection of poems that explore the concept of “nothingness”. This three section book delves into this concept by exploring a number of poems that each give their own take on this abstract term. It was created by Altamash Kadri, Charlotte Damm and Stella Tsiliberdi. The content has been divided into Life, In-between and Death, representing the cycle of life. This poetry book is our take on the word.

Why Nothingness?

Nothingness is a concept hard to grasp. While some would say it is a state of being nothing, others would argue it is when one realises their own minuscule existence in the cosmos. Nothing exists yet here we are. There are multiple various views on what the term means. This book delves into the meanings of nothingness by depicting the feeling through a visual and written point of view. The topic is not highly spoken about in society, which is one of the many reasons that fuelled us to create this publication - to make it a more common topic of conversation. Throughout the book, there will be links to videos in the form of QR codes; the short video edits will attempt to depict the poems visually. The layout of the book has been split into three parts: Life, The In-Between and Death. Due to the many aspects and views on the concept, a division has been made to explore these aspects. There is a fine line between Life and Death when it comes to nothingness, and it is to be treated as such.
